(UNITED NATIONS, July 21, 2021)—On July 21, the U.N. Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) approved Fortify Rights’s application for special observer status. Consultative status enables Fortify Rights to engage in various ways with ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, the Human Rights Council, and some meetings of the U.N. General Assembly. This status also enables Fortify Rights to obtain ground passes to U.N. Headquarters in New York and the organization’s offices in Geneva and Vienna. ECOSOC special consultative status recognizes Fortify Rights’s expertise in human rights and will enable us and our partners to directly engage high-level diplomats and policy-makers on the global stage.
