A new 102-page report, “Tools of Genocide: National Verification Cards and the Denial of Citizenship of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar” by Fortify Rights documents how Myanmar’s National Verification Cards process and denial of citizenship for Rohingya contravenes Myanmar’s international legal obligations, including rights to nationality, non-discrimination, protection from torture or ill-treatment, freedom of movement, and an adequate standard of living.
